At Alliant, physical therapy clinical staff members have had some training and practice experience in various forms of massage and manual therapy techniques and have taken coursework in some of the most common Bodywork approaches including Deep Tissue / Myofascial Release, Cranial-Sacral Therapy, St. John’s Neuromuscular Therapy, Acupressure, Strain-Counter-strain / Jones points, Tom Meyer’s Anatomy Trains, and some components of Structural Integration. We may apply these variations from time to time using usual CPT physical therapy codes for manual therapy – as we too are well-versed in the application of skillful touch.
However, given the fundamental nature of active functional involvement that is mostly required as a commonplace qualification for actual physical therapy ( physiotherapy) practice - with a primacy for ‘patient as active participant’ moreso than ‘patient as passive recipient’ - we have opted to delegate customary massage practice to those who are most practiced - massage therapists themselves.
Let Alliant help you to resolve background muscular tension while on the table.
